Production
Here I have listed the various different software and work I have done in a production role within my industry career.
Why production became my focus
I started working with production in my 3rd year of university after a project in 2nd year went bad. It made me realise a lot of important things in projects such as scope, team management and project organisation. I took the lessons I had learned from my 2nd year and the first term of my 3rd year and applied them to my 3rd year project as producer. I now find production to be very fun and rewarding and allows me to apply my knowledge to enhance the project and support my team.

JIRA
I have been using Jira since 2024 now and it has become a frequently used software within my bigger projects and is great for organising the teams i work in.

MIRO
Miro has also become a common software within my projects as we use it for our ideation and concepting stages to get a clearer idea of the project and note down ideas people have. I have been using Miro since 2022

Trello
Trello was the first production software i had used. It was used early in my academic career in 2022 which eventually would lead onto me learning Jira. I am pretty confident now in using Trello and using it has become second nature. I use it mainly for smaller scale projects such as 2 day jams.

Notion
Notion is another service I have used since early in my academic career for various purposes. For Dead Mass, it was used to keep dev diaries and record our daily stand-ups. I have also used it extensively within my time at AGDS as that was where all the event planning was recorded and the meeting agendas and minutes.

Github
GitHub was the first version control software I had ever used. I used it for various small projects prior to me attending University in 2021 but refined my skills in using it during my time at Abertay. GitHub is usually the source control software I will use unless middleware is used that GitHub can't accommodate.

Perforce
I had used Perforce in 2024 - 2025 during my third year at University. I had never used the software before and spent a lot of the year learning how to use and fix errors that we had run into. I am happy with my skills in Perforce but I am not as confident as I am with GitHub. This is the version control software I use if I am using Unreal Engine and GitHub isn't an option.
Constantly improving
I am constantly refining my production skills on each project and am always happy to learn.
